Life's Rich Parade

"It's the part I was born to play, baby!"

Sorry for the unplanned hiatus. Amazingly, there are more important things than what passes for blogging at grandpaboy.

Huh.

So I've been further out of the loop than a senile Gipper. Beside candidate fundraisers, family and writing, I've been awarded an artist residency with the Wexner Center and also taken a part-time job with America Votes to help their GOTV effort.

All of this is to say, I love the online community here in state. It's hard to believe it's only been a year since I was bouncing around, name checking Plunderbund, Word of Mouth, De Magno Oper. BSB used to be BSB, and merely a fraction of its current monolith. These big-souled people helped encourage me to get still more involved locally and win election to my neighborhood area commission. I wish I were taking a greater part now in the on-line community, but the volunteerism that I started writing about last year has once again taken over my life.

I plan to drop by whenever I feel like it. Cuz that's the sort of professionalism associated with this site. But I'm going to try my damnedest to make sure Americans are turning out to do their democratic responsibility come November. Because votes count. Because government can make a positive impact on people's lives. Because America is better than what we've shown the world for the past six years.

Because Ohio doesn't have to suck.
